In this
tutorial I will show you how to installing Active Directory Domain and
Promote the server to a Domain Controller inside Windows Server 2012 R2. This
program is so important for our server if we want to make a domain for server. Then
all others clients will know us by our domain that we made inside windows
server. For example if we want to know our server we can find them only by
domain name that we made them. Easily we can say that, domain means address of
server. We know that for differ one thing from another thing we should know the
address. If we want search with google chrome, we will not search other address
for finding the google chrome, we thoroughly search address of google chrome. Like
this if we want to find our server we make our client as a domain by the help
of domain controller. So let’s go ahead and follow the steps to reach our
success and complete our task.
1. Step: go to Server manager + manage + Add rules and features. To
install the domain Controller inside our server, that after this we can work
properly and do not face any problems about domain.
2. Step: when you complete this portion, then you have some step the first step
is Before Begin, this option help you and give information about that
program you want to install. If you want or thought that is important read
otherwise click next to go further next step.
3. Step: when you read the information and take something from that note then you
can click next for installation types. There you have two option the
first option is for server that you want to install that program for server. The
next option is for virtual machine and desktop infrastructure that we don’t want
for that. Select the first option for install the program for server no other
thing else.
4. Step: now in Server Selection you also have two option. Without losing time
click next and there you can find the Active Directory Domain Server, and
tick the blank to be ready for install. Then click next, on that step in Features
we don’t have any work so without any changes click next. In Ad Ds (active
directory and domain server) we can see some information about domain
server that if we install this thing will happen inside server. There also we don’t
have any option, so click next. The last option is Confirmation. it
means now our product is ready for produce se click on install that your
program become complete and we can use the function of domain server with own
server.
5. Step: when your installation finished. Maybe once your server restart for
applying changes. Then once again go to Server Manager. In Notification you can see one yellow
option from domain server. There is written to promote this server to a domain
controller. So click on them for promoting the domain server. There you will
select a domain for server. Select Add a new forest, and there type any name
you want to be a domain name. Then click next.
6. Step: in Domain Controller Options. You can select the forest functional
level that for which level or for which version of server will work properly. You
can customize them. Then give any password for securing your server from unknown
person. Then click on next button.
7. Step: In DNS option there is nothing click next. In Additional
Options, you can select net bios name, but that is already written and no
needy for changing or writing a new name. In Paths option you can select
the way of files. There is three folder one Database folder + Log life
folder + SYSVOL folder. You can change the way. That better that, server automatically
select the way. So then click on next.
8. Step: In Review Options, there
give you some information about this domain. About place of saving,
functionality level…….. Then click next button. In Prerequisites Check, there
the server will check the way that we made that is correct or no if that was
correct a green tick will come there. If there was not a green tick it means
that we should find the mistake and solve them. Then that tick change into
green then you can install.
Then Installation
part check your way for installing and repairing your installation. Making ready
the program which they are needy to be installed. And making the way of
installing for domain server. So let them to be complete then you can install
and finished your task. Your server will restart for applying changes and then
your server is ready for clients to connect server with domain. By passing this
method you will be able to make a domain for server and know the way of
installing the program. Thanks.
